Sarkar Ganesh Utsav Group – History (Surat)
Sarkar Ganesh Utsav Group is one of the most famous and well-known Ganesh Utsav organizations in Surat, Gujarat, especially recognized for its grand celebrations in the City Light area.
History
- Established: 2004
- Location: City Light, Surat, Gujarat
- Founder & Leadership: The organization has been led by Sagar Rajput along with the dedicated members of the Sarkar Ganesh Utsav Committee.

- Started as a small community Ganesh festival with the vision of bringing people together through devotion, unity, and service.

- Within two years, the celebration attracted more devotees every year, and the pandal expanded to accommodate the growing crowd.

2024 – 20 Years of Devotion
- Completed two decades of celebrations and became one of Gujarat's most visited Ganesh Utsav festivals, attracting thousands of devotees annually.

2025 – Eco-Friendly Milestone
- Introduced Gujarat's first 16-foot eco-friendly Ganesh idol made entirely from tissue paper, weighing around 350 kg and crafted by 15 artisans from Mumbai over one month.
- The initiative received widespread appreciation for promoting sustainable Ganesh celebrations and was covered by national media.
